Why this precaution? Due to its thinness and permeability, a baby's skin is drier and can be prone to fungal infections. Guaranteed free from parabens and phenoxyethanol, baby products respect the balance of their skin. From the age of 3, children can switch to a kids' range until about 10 or 12 years old. After that, their skin is mature enough to use adult products.
Cleaning the eyes, ears, and nose
In the maternity ward, nurses recommend cleaning the nose with cotton wicks soaked in saline solution. The goal is to remove impurities from the child's nose and prevent ENT infections. Children often cry during this cleaning. However, it is recommended to do this until 3 months old. After that, you can switch to a sea water spray for nasal hygiene.
Every day, use cotton to remove eye secretions and dust, always wiping from the inside out. This motion prevents bringing germs into the eye and helps avoid conjunctivitis. Eye cleaning should be done until the age of 2.
Ears should be cleaned with a small piece of cotton around the edge of the ear. It should not be inserted into the ear canal. Never use a cotton swab, as it can push the earwax further in.
Bath products up to age 3
Body and hair wash gel can be used daily on your baby's body. With a neutral pH, it should be hypoallergenic and fragrance-free. If your child has thick hair, a baby shampoo is ideal. It won't sting the eyes and should help detangle long hair.
Be sure to respect the shelf life of a product after opening. This is indicated by an open jar symbol with the number of months shown. Even though baby products are used up quickly, only open one at a time. Choose a pump bottle, which is more hygienic and comes in a small size.
