7-month-old baby: what care should you provide?

At 7 months, a child is energetic in the bath and constant supervision is mandatory, despite the apparent stability of the bath ring or seat. The products can be the same as those used since birth, because at this age, the child’s skin is still thin and permeable, making it sensitive. Don’t hesitate to nourish it with a rich cream based on cold cream.

A safe bath time
Bath time is a moment of play for the child, with toys, books, and bubbles. During the bath, be 100% present with your child. The bath lasts on average 20 minutes. Prepare all their things in advance and don’t try to watch over cooking or answer the phone.

The care for a 7-month-old baby is kept to a strict minimum with a body and hair cleansing gel. You can apply a nourishing cream if the skin seems dry or a bit tight.

Don’t hesitate to rinse your baby with a mineral water spray, especially if the water is hard. For the diaper area, liniment and a diaper cream are the perfect allies against diaper rash.

Ear care
Forget traditional cotton swabs for cleaning your child’s ears. Using a stick pushes the earwax deeper into the ear and can create a blockage. By inserting the cotton swab into the ear canal, you could damage the eardrum. In any case, nature does things well. The ear cleans itself, thanks to tiny hairs that remove earwax from the ear. Buy special cotton swabs for babies, with large tips. They can only clean the outside of the ear and the auricle.

The area behind the ears tends to dry out and even crack, which can be painful for the child. Remember to dry it well by patting after the bath and apply a moisturizing cream.
