Before the age of 2, a baby's skin remains delicate, prone to redness and irritation. It is recommended to use baby products and to wash the cleanest parts of the body first, moving to the dirtiest, just like in the maternity ward.

When it comes to caring for a one-year-old baby, there is no need to buy a large quantity of products. Why? Parents should apply the minimum amount of care to the skin. For bathing, one product is enough.

Body and hair cleansing gel for washing
Babies often have too little hair or not enough hair density to require shampoo. A 2-in-1 cleansing gel is sufficient for washing the body. The product should be as neutral as possible, without parabens, fragrance, alcohol, or phenoxyethanol.

Using a wet washcloth soaked with gel, start by cleaning the head, then the arms, torso, legs, and finish with the diaper area.

Optimal hydration with a rich body lotion
A child may have dry skin due to weather conditions or friction from clothing. To preserve their extremely thin hydrolipidic barrier, moisturizing is recommended after every bath.
While many parents use massage oil, a rich body lotion is more suitable, such as plant-based cold cream.

Specific care for diaper changes
During teething, digestive changes, or hot weather, a child may have a red bottom or even diaper rash. At each diaper change, the baby should be cleaned with wipes or liniment (a mixture of limewater and olive oil).

Then, it is recommended to apply a thick layer of diaper cream, which forms a protective barrier between the wet diaper and the skin. To treat diaper rash, only regular changing and air exposure are effective.
