How to protect baby’s delicate skin in winter?

A child (especially a baby or an infant) whose skin is not protected from the cold and wind with suitable products can suffer from chapping, dry patches, cracked lips, and may even develop early signs of frostbite on the hands and feet. Their skin then becomes rough and itching may cause discomfort. The main areas to protect during winter are especially the face, lips, and hands.
The right habits to adopt:
-
Preferably use "cold creams," rich creams, hypoallergenic and tested under pediatric supervision, applying them several times a day if necessary; this way, you will protect your child's skin by applying a semi-permeable protective and lipid film to its surface, which will help prevent all these inconveniences.
-
Do not neglect their lips, as your baby often moistens them, which worsens chapping and the effects of the cold. Always have a suitable balm or stick on hand.
-
The body is also subjected to aggressions linked to temperature changes, friction from clothing, hard water; although it is less exposed to the cold than the face, there is no need to apply a very greasy cream. However, it should not be neglected. Take care of your baby’s skin with a moisturizing cream and take this opportunity to give them a little massage. This moment of bonding and relaxation will be a real pleasure, for both you and your baby.
-
Don’t forget to dress your baby properly with suitable clothing, but also to remove some layers when you bring them back into the warmth (car, store, waiting room, etc…)
Cold, wind, temperature changes, and friction are harsh: remember to protect your baby.
