Intimate hygiene for a 2-year-old girl is different from that of a woman. In fact, before puberty, the labia majora are rounded and do not cover the labia minora and the clitoris. The labia minora are much thinner and finer than in women, but most importantly, the vaginal environment does not have the same composition and requires a specific product.

How to perform intimate hygiene for a little girl?
Intimate hygiene should be done daily for little girls, from a very young age. It is enough to do it with bare hands using lukewarm water and a gentle product suitable for intimate hygiene. We recommend avoiding regular soap, which may sting. It is very important to dry the area well but without rubbing (gently pat dry) to avoid irritation. If you decide to use a washcloth, it should be changed with each use. One rule must always be followed: intimate hygiene should be done from front to back to avoid bringing germs from the stool to the urogenital area.

How often?
As a general rule, it is recommended to wash the genital area once a day. However, it is strongly advised to thoroughly clean your little girl’s intimate parts after swimming in the sea or pool, and after playing in the sand. The risk of vulvitis is quite significant.
