NO to water waste!
DID YOU KNOW?
93% of the water we use at home is dedicated to hygiene and cleaning, and 7% to food consumption
Saving water during your beauty routine is very simple—and fortunately so, because water is becoming increasingly scarce: In 1995, it was estimated that the renewable and available water resource was only 7,500 m3 per person per year. It is expected to drop to less than 5,100 m3 by 2025*.
A few eco-friendly habits can be enough to save significant amounts of water. All the more reason to adopt them!
Turn off the water while shampooing
In the shower, once your hair is wet, remember to turn off the water and take your time to lather your hair… guilt-free! You’ll also save the energy needed to heat the water.
Same goes for brushing your teeth: make it a habit to turn off the tap. You could save nearly 60 liters a day.
Remove makeup in the shower
Another simple eco-friendly gesture to save water and time during your beauty routine: remove your eye and face makeup in one go under the shower with Corine de Farme’s Organic Micellar Foam. Plus, say goodbye to cotton pads and wipes!
Fun fact:
Even if you don’t wear makeup, your skin gets dirty (excess sebum, sweat, dust, etc.). To keep your face young and healthy, it’s essential to cleanse it.
Skip the bath
Taking a 4-minute shower and skipping the bath will save you 130 liters of water each time. The numbers speak for themselves: a shower uses an average of 40 to 60 liters of water, while a bathtub consumes 120 to 200 liters—that’s 4 to 5 showers for a single bath! No more doubts, ban the bath!
Leaks: staggering numbers
Leaks are responsible for the loss of huge amounts of water. It’s bad for your bill and for the environment, so be vigilant and check your bathroom regularly.
If you’re not convinced, look at the numbers: A dripping tap wastes 35,000 liters of water per year, a leaking toilet flush wastes 220,000 liters of water per year*.
