Rose water: what are its benefits?
Rose water, or rose hydrosol, has been used for centuries because of its many virtues and its delicate fragrance. Beneficial for hair, face, skin, and even edible in some cases, rose water has it all and gives you everything. Let’s take a look.
Where does rose water come from and how is it obtained?
According to historians, rose water was already being used in the 10th century in the Middle Eastern regions. In Greece, Persia, and China, it can even be traced back to Antiquity. At that time, pale pink and red roses (including the famous Damask rose) were cultivated to be harvested at the beginning of May.
Women quickly noticed its positive effects, especially on the skin of their faces. Moreover, even the most sensitive skin types can use rose water without worry.
Rose water, also called hydrosol, is actually a by-product of the production of rose essential oil. Although we are interested in the aqueous phase here, its extraction process is identical: steam distillation. Being natural, it contains no ingredients of controversial origin.
Did you know? To produce just one liter of rose essential oil, no less than 4 tons of petals are needed!
The benefits of rose water for your skin
At Corine de Farme, we offer certified organic rose water in a 200 ml bottle equipped with a spray. In the evening, after removing your makeup and cleansing your face, spray a few times and gently pat your skin with a cotton pad. Your skin feels fresher and delicately scented. But rose water has many other virtues.
Antibacterial, it deeply cleanses the skin and helps heal minor wounds. At the same time, rose water soothes skin irritated by sunburn.
Moisturizing and revitalizing, rose water smooths and regenerates the skin. Rich in antioxidants, it also effectively fights wrinkles and fine lines.
Finally, all these combined virtues make rose water a beneficial treatment for puffy eyes—apply with two cotton pads to restore a fresh and rested look.
Rose water: for your hair too!
But the wonderful rose water is not just a gift for your skin. Your hair will also love its application, especially if it is dry and/or if you suffer from flaking and dry dandruff.
Because it fights inflammation in general and hair loss in particular, rose water strengthens your hair, especially when applied regularly as a massage.
One last advantage? This magical hydrosol does not need to be rinsed out. It even leaves your hair delicately scented.
For significant and/or regular needs, Corine de Farme rose water is also available in a pack of two bottles and in an eco-pack of 12 units.
