Tallow has become very trendy in recent years. It is credited with many benefits for both the body and hair. For example, in addition to moisturizing very dry skin, it accelerates tanning. But is it safe? Can you use it freely and excessively?
Why is it effective?
Tallow is a true tanning accelerator. Just like an oil that heats up under the sun, it captures the rays to warm the skin. The skin reacts to this stimulation by producing melanin. Result: You tan quickly!
Tallow is moisturizing and known for its emollient properties. It’s the perfect partner for soft, beautifully tanned skin!
Beware of burns!
And since life isn’t always smooth sailing, don’t rely on this initial promise to do whatever you want in excess. The problem with tallow is that it contains no UV filters and therefore cannot protect you! It should be used on already tanned skin or in addition to sunscreen… which will reduce its accelerating effect, but at least you can be sure you won’t get burned!
