Two-Year-Old Baby: How to Bathe Them?

At two years old, your baby is growing up and it’s possible to switch to the range of care products for children. Bath time for a 2-year-old usually takes place in the evening after coming home from the childminder or school.

Given their age, even if they want to do everything like a grown-up, it’s still up to the parent to wash and rinse them. For drying, the child no longer needs a bath cape but rather a bathrobe to stay warm after the bath.

A gentle shower gel for children
When choosing a shower gel for children, you should use the same criteria as for babies. Choose a clean formula, free from parabens, phenoxyethanol, PEG, alcohol, and fragrance.

With Corine de Farme, if your child is a bit reluctant to take a bath, you can opt for a shower gel featuring their favorite characters to motivate them: Star Wars, princesses, Cars, etc.

A shampoo that doesn’t sting the eyes and detangles hair
At two years old, your child will often have their first haircut at the hairdresser, and it’s normal to use shampoo. Their hair has no particular type: it’s not dry, oily, or dandruff-prone…

The child needs to wash their hair but not treat it. Remember to use just the right amount of shampoo, in small quantities for children. A shampoo with detangling properties is recommended to avoid tears during brushing. Indeed, children’s hair can tangle very quickly and form knots. Be sure to comb the hair well before shampooing to avoid having to cut out knots.

At two years old, the child has their shampoo during bath time. Rinsing can be chaotic if the product stings the eyes.

If they can’t tolerate any product, even a non-stinging shampoo, invest in a bath visor, which allows you to rinse the hair. Alternatively, a washcloth can work just as well.
