What are the benefits of a quick wash?
Bath time is an important moment for your baby’s hygiene, but also for interaction and bonding between you both during this special time. That’s why it should never be rushed or done in a hurry: it requires time, calm, and your full attention. It’s better to skip a bath than to do it poorly!
Unfortunately, this is not always possible and certain circumstances may lead you to give a “quick wash,” a “cat wash”:
- Wiping the face, hands, and neck after a meal or if your baby has spit up
- Cleaning the diaper area after a bowel movement or urination
- A quick bath or shower if it’s very hot, your baby is sweating, or if they have vomited or have diarrhea
- But also brief baths or showers if your baby has dry, atopic skin
Depending on the situation, especially when traveling, wipes are perfectly suitable if they are alcohol-free, paraben-free, phenoxyethanol-free, and hypoallergenic. You can also use cleansing milks with cotton pads.
But don’t forget the real bath and the pleasure it brings your baby.
