What baby care at 1 month?

Baby needs daily care, but their needs vary depending on their age. For example, at 1 month old, your baby no longer needs special care for their navel, which should have healed, but they have an important need for skin care, as their skin does not yet produce sebum on its own. Let’s see together what care is needed for a 1-month-old baby.

Bath time care
For 9 months, your baby was immersed in your amniotic fluid, which is their natural environment where they feel comfortable. You’ll see that when you put them in their bath, they’ll feel like a little fish in water.

This is a great opportunity to enjoy tender moments through smiles and gentle words. Never bathe your baby when you’re in a hurry, so as not to spoil this special time. If their skin is very dry, you can space out the baths, but don’t forget to clean their face daily with a baby cleansing milk.

Genital hygiene
This is one of the most delicate parts of your baby’s body and is prone to irritation. Genital hygiene should be done properly at every diaper change. For girls, always clean the vulva from front to back, gently separating the labia majora. Do not try to clean the inside, as you risk removing the natural barrier called mucus, which protects against bacteria and prevents genital infections.

For little boys, use the same technique: wash your son’s penis and scrotum with water and a mild soap. If you notice irritation or redness starting to appear on the buttocks, use a zinc oxide cream after each diaper change.
