What are dry oils for body and hair?
Dry oil is a concept all its own. Nourishing, with a satin finish but without a greasy film, it has strong advantages that you absolutely need to know about. Dry oil for the body, face, or hair—this 100% feminine treatment is no longer limited to the front pocket of your beach bag and is now a lasting part of your bathroom.
What is a dry oil and why use it?
Under the term dry oil, various cosmetic products are actually grouped together. In fact, some oils are naturally “dry,” which means they penetrate the skin quickly and leave no greasy film, while in other cases, a dry oil may be a blend designed to achieve just the right level of “dryness.”
At the heart of natural dry oils are polyunsaturated fatty acids, mainly omega-3 and omega-6. These precious ingredients deeply nourish the skin and hair for a soft and supple feel. But other fatty acids, such as gadoleic acid and erucic acid, are also included in the composition of dry oils for a “dry” touch and optimal absorption.
Their fluid and light texture is not only a real pleasure to use, but also the secret to their success. They are responsible for such rapid absorption, allowing you, for example, to put on your clothes without waiting.
But dry oils are also popular for their satin finish and the natural, elegant look they leave on the skin, especially in summer.
What are dry oils and what are their benefits?
Among the best-known dry oils are sesame oil, hazelnut oil, argan oil, and hemp oil. For our enhancing dry oil, we chose organic argan oil, organic sunflower oil, and monoi with its captivating scent.
Thanks to these oils, the skin is hydrated, protected, nourished, and appears illuminated from within, especially if your complexion is already tanned. Hair, on the other hand, is strengthened, supple, and shiny, ready to face the elements.
Overall, dry oil offers optimized spreadability, an almost invisible, non-greasy finish, a silky and comfortable feel, and a composition that makes it suitable for all skin types (normal or dry, oily or sensitive, and even dehydrated).
How to apply dry oil to skin and hair?
The advantage here is that you don’t have to wonder which dry oils to apply to your skin and which to use on your hair. At Corine de Farme, we have formulated a “two-in-one” dry oil for you.
To apply it properly, warm it for a moment between your hands by rubbing them together. On the face, you can gently massage it in with your fingertips, then apply your makeup as usual.
On the body, use broad circular motions, paying extra attention to the driest areas such as elbows or knees.
Finally, for hair, spray your dry oil only on the lengths and ends, up to 2 or 3 times a week, especially during summer when the hair fiber is exposed to many aggressors like sun, wind, salt, or chlorine.
